Road Trippin'
In leiu of ANOTHER fancy jetaway vacation, this past weekend it was.
ROAD TRIP!
Headed out to Tampa this past weekend with my friend and legendary drummer,EFB! There was some big storm which I guess became now hurricane "Alex" bubbling up in the Atlantic. As it was moving along the coastal waters off Florida, it was pulling in "feeder bands" of stormy weather. Well I dont know about all that metero-geological stuff except to say it was raining all nasty like!!
It was so bad at time driving through the swamp (the Everglades) I literally thought I was underwater. Not fun driving for sure. We made the most of it though and cruised along through it.
It did stop raining enough for us to stop in and check out EFB's own private little swamp over in Punta Gorda
However the constant downpour of Rain didn't keep us from having a good time.
Did I mention EFB Rocks! We rocked hard with RudeSquad, then Raged for Murphys Law after which I got to hang with Murphys for a little bit, as the Pie Tasters took over the stage. Love that happy Ska-core, yet after the MIGHTY MURPHYS LAW, anyone would be a disappointment. There was this one chick there with an electric flaming red hairdo, she was NON-STOP Action! The rest of the night just kept on rocking hard, despite the nonstop rain. I cant really tell you too much about the rest of the evening. There was plenty of partying and after slamming down some shots with Jimmy G. from Murphys Law, after which all details become hazy.
Driving back home was another underwater adventure compounded by the fact we were stuck driving in circles around Tampa!!
First an accident on the I-4 had traffic all stalled there, and as we were zipping along flooded side roads along side the highway, we finally jumped on the to catch up with the Interstate 75 only without any warning or any signs the exit was CLOSED.
Yeah so back to meandering along side roads. Circling about some different flooded roads, morbidly enjoying dousing any poor pedestrians by passing through puddles!
Finally did make it out of Tampa, and back to the underwater cruise back South East!
