The Death of Dimebag

Yesterday we learned of another tragic senseless act of violence.
On the very day where 24 years ago another deranged fan ended the life of John Lennon. Here 24 years later, Daryl "Dimebag" Abbott was shot to death, while on stage by a deranged fan.
Oh but this story runs deeper. At least for me personally there are a couple of ways you can run two degrees of seperation from this to me.

First one, if you recall my Blog entry from Nov 20th I mentioned the passing of my friend.
The thing about that was by his own admission, his "claim to fame" was that he once played (guitar) in a band with "Dimebag" Daryl. Almost a month to the day when I learned of his passing this happened.

The next erie connection was my friend Mariah. Who happens to be from Ohio (and if you pronounce it Oh-Hi-Yah it rhymes!) well it just so happens that she happened to be there when he was shot! Oh yeah right there, backstage, and saw it all happen. As you can imagine she was a little traumatized by the whole thing. However I did get a first hand account of the horror of that night in that Columbus Ohio club, where sadly a great chapter in Rock and Roll history was ended. Rest in Piece Daryl!

My apologies for not posting the next story here on time.

I only typed it up four or five times, it just so happens that this site has a pleasant little way of LOSING MY FRIGGEN STORY!!!

ITS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATED and never want to blog another thing!! AT LEAST ON THIS SITE... where did it go???

Well I probably will be blogging again soon, but for now well its taking all the restraint I can muster NOT TO DESTROY my COMPUTER - after all its not the computers fault, and I just bought this one soo pardon me while I go find something less necessary to smash!

GRRRRRRR!!!

Wild Weekends and the return of Blogging!

Well not to sound way out of line, but the past weekend will be one of some note!
It was one of great highs, and great lows, and some strange twists in between.

I dont know how much Detail I can elaborate on or where to start my tale, so I mught as well just throw to gether a reminder/refresher summary.

FRIDAY - Started with Happy hour, at Montys - it only got happier,
stopped into a rocking VFW House where we saw the heat thump Chicago.
The night really took off after swinging by Teds Hideaway, Playright and finally the Duece bar. An incredibly packed Duece bar. Where things got exponentially more interesting as I met a new friend. We wound up hanging out really, really late, which turned into really really early. Which again became late, as I was late for Saturdays events.... Saturday - really - wow.
At some point Saturday I had to "lug" my equipment all the way down to Kendall for a little "threesome" - a MUSICAL THREESOME YOU DORKS - Guitar, Bass and EFB on the Drums. Despite the definative drain done by the night before We still ROCKED. Nay I say RIPPED it up. Producing a hard, metal sound!! RIPPING -- I did videotape most of the jam, yet some of the BEST numbers (including ones where I WAS on lead guitar - and soloing my a** off) the camera was NOT ON, but I still got like 5 new songs out of that. That went on into the night.
Saturday Night: After almost calling it an early night due to exhaustion, I managed to find some energy to continue to party. Might have been a bad mistake as I was out but REALLY CRANKY, and maybe even mean. Was I mean? I hope not. Well Saturday night wasnt as draining as Friday but all in all ok, but still went on into the small hours - you know really small numbers like 4 or 5. Which makes the wake up call at 10:30 that much harsher.
No band on Sunday instead it was Football day as I was going to the Miami Dolphins football game with some friends. SUNDAY EARLY EVENING was capped with a few JacK Daniels at the local pub, and I was passed out almost immediately upon getting home.
