Tow-taled
Just a reminder if you are visiting anyone on South Beach...

Make sure to park in a "legit" spot.

If you see a "tow" sign, do not ignore it - it is not an idle threat.

If you think "well I will only be a minute", think again, in many cases the tow truck guys give a little money to "spotters" who basically have nothing else to do but to call the tow company when they see someone illegally parked. Since, for these folks, this IS their main source of income, they dont miss too many. Likely they saw you coming when you pulled in and were cheering you to go for it - while you were deciding weather "to park or not to park..." they were likely already thinking about the bottle of Boone's they were gonna buy with the proceeds. Before you are even out of your car, they have already called the tow.

If parking illegally avoid using alarms. Aside from annoying everyone when they put your car on the tow, it will chirp and whine the whole way to the tow-yard.

Finally have CASH.
The tow yards DONT accept credit or checks....

...or stories about how you were just going to be a minute.

(see for every good thing you read about south Beach, be happy you can PARK where ever you may live! Ya definately got that on us here!)

One last funny here to tide you over. As I wont be posting anything for a few days as I am going on Vacation. Hopefully I will have plenty of new stories when I get back....

So this morning while in a hurry I stopped at a drive-thru window of a popular fast food chain. (oh yeah no mo. free pro mo. - ya want yer name here fess up with a check!!)

So while there I noticed the car in front of me moving very slowly - and somewhat irrationally. Normally the sign of a seriously impaired driver. What - impaired drivers in South Florida?? That never happens! Well as this driver slowly inched into the drive thru, then get closer to the intercom, when I notice the driver get out of the car, and walk up to the menu.
Putting her face only inches from the sign, she yelled at the intercom:
"hold on Im trying to read the menu."
She squaked into the speaker.

"My God" I thought to myself. "This woman is blind as a bat.
No wonder she was driving so badly."

So after about a 15 min debate with the speaker, which she was also leaning into while talking. She got back into her car, and crept along toward the drive through window.

Somewhere right now, out there on the roads in South Florida, this woman is out there creeping along - wondering what might be going on past the 1 or 2 inches of her vision.

Maybe thats whos in front of you...

Mansion

I have mentioned this place twice already in previous posts.
Though its not like me to do uncompensated advertising,
and technically its not, but I will see about parlaying this into vip status!! Stay tuned.

Since most of you out there are probably not in South Beach and may never have been. I will give you a little taste of what this place was like.
Well heres a link - hopefully it will work. It may be there only for a limited time, anyway, here is the link:

Mansion Link

So if this doesnt work - try copying and pasting it into your browsers address line.
If that dont work -- what can I tell you google on it.

Now while these PHOTOS may OR may not have been taken on the night that I was actually there, there is that possibility.
Dont look too hard for me - I am not in any of them.

ENJOY!

The Model City

On Occaisions I tend to forget what a great City I live in.
Yes South Beach has often been called the land of the beautiful people. After almost a decade, It still amazes me from time to time.

Last week on my usual carousing about town, I ran into quite a few lovely ladies of the (photo) layout. Impressive would be an understatement. In an almost offhanded nature in just throwing a jovial greeting to a beauty within close proximity. I was almost beside myself to find out that it was lynnsie of lynnsiesworld.com (and folks NO that is not the right URL - If anyone knows it please post that to my FORUM!!). On her possesion were some of the newest photos she just had done. I think I stood completely frozen. BUT NO I recovered in time to ask for some photos - to prove to my sober self that I was not hallucinating this. Not only was she willing to comply, amazingly cool for an icon! Yet she posed for SOME GREAT photos with yours truly... great month to cancel the picture pack on my phone!! UGH!!

Later on I got to meet some of the sweetest models I have ever seen. About 4 girls working for excitenite.com (or something - I am not sure of these URLs due to the excessive Jack Daniels I had consumed!) One of them - and I forgot her name with the Von Dutch Camp was arguably the hottest among a gaggle of hotties, and sweet as sugar!! Too bad SHE was engaged!

As if it were a one time only thing, which it isnt, it would be enough, but to know that things like this go on EVERY NITE, ALL AROUND ME.... its maddening...

Sure take a vacation, thats a good idea. Leaving tommorrow for NY. Oh look at this -- Playboy centerfold party tommorrow night at Mansion.

Gotta love this town baby!
