The Party Crue
Yeah just a quick kick before its purged from my memories!

Thursday night was quite a treat as the Clevelander hosted a concert by Vince Neil formerly of Motley Crue. With a new motley crue.
I did get several pictures but aside from them all stinking greatly - blurred and just not good. I took the picture package off my cell phone - so basically they wont be posted here. Not like you could make anything out there anyway they were just a blur of colors.

The cool part wasnt the concert which was over way to early.
(thanks to the wonderful politicans of Miami Beach -- and that WILL be another rant for another time!) No the cool part was well after the show when the band was just hanging out.
Not that I am in awe of these guys quite the opposite, here I just wanted to say "good show" to these guys and they are like - "great town dude, must be nice to live here...." along those lines.
BUT THATS not all... see with my long dreds and rock and roll looks, hanging out with the band - well that tends to draw quite the attention from females. Man those guys got it good.
For a few moments there - I was partying like a rock star, and lovin it!!

REMINDER:

IF I AM EVER ON TRIAL,
SEND THREATENING LETTER TO JURY MEMBER.

See today head Tyco Criminal Dennis Kozlowski got away with over $600 million dollars
he embezzelled from cooking the books at Tyco - including ridiculous bonuses, and artificially inflating the stock price and selling company stock for huge profits.
He got away with it after months of investigative work building a paper trail and a case.
Weeks of courtroom trial, 11 days of jury deliberations, because one juror suspiciously was holding up deliberations AND gave him the thumbs up sign when going into deliberation. GEE nothing funny there, then when suddenly she gets mysterious threatening MAIL - they call a mistrial - and one of the greatest criminals in the 20th century gets off scot free with a 600 million dollar take!
At the very least she ought to get a couple mil. for her efforts from "The Koz" considering that he was looking at about 15,000 years of jail time cumulatively(not kidding about that either).

Why should we care anyway, right? I mean what we (common folk) only lost about half of our savings in all the 401Ks and mutual funds we and other moms, dads, sisters, and brothers had.

So why should anyone bother THREATENING the one person who was key to pulling off the caper - one, sole, tampered juror. Amazing.

Remind me if ever I am brought up on charges, to have some letters I am writing up right now sent.

Is it me??
Well go figure. So on Saturday (see Blog entry from Mar. 27) dont I write a nice article about how the Miami Heat won an exciting thriller of a game.
Then talk about how I ran into Malik Allen of the Heat in the swanky "Mansion" here on South Beach.

Well almost immediately after that, both fortunes changed.

First Miami had their win streak snapped at Indiana.

Next night, poor ole Malik Allen had his knee snapped at home in a victory against the Chicago Bulls.

Sure most people might call that a coincidence. However I dont really subscribe to the coincidence theory. Lets just leave it at that before I start to get really crazy.

Hey Rod - cue the Twilight zone music....

Final Four Recap:

Ok way back when...
In the March 17th 2004 Edition of my FORUM I predicted that Kentucky, Pitt, U. Conn, and Duke would go to the Final Four.
So here we are on March 29th and well 50% is NOT TOO SHABBY huh.

I can also throw out the fact that I did have Georgia Tech playing Kentucky in that regional final which I recall was the toughest pick I had to make. Went with Kentucky there as it looked like they had the easier road, who knew about U.A.B.?

Then of course The other bracket I missed on I sat there and debated long and hard which team would knock off St. Joes - and I did like Oklahoma State in that bracket an awful lot, I was concerned that they could have stumbled against Memphis or South Carolina there in the second round, I thought Pitt had the better chance to get there, even with having to get through Wisconsin.
I really wanted OK. State, I basically thought Pitt would best Ok. State - foolishly as I was on Ok. State most of the year, reminding me of the old axiom best dance with the girl you brought to the dance. But I did have Pitt a few times this year as well, and fell in love with that Defense, I thought it would give Ok. State fits and it did MOST of that game!
Regardless Either team would have knocked out St. Joes I am sure, and I should have followed my heart on that one, but not too shabby picking U Conn and Duke though,
and oh yeah, I did sort of let you ALL know that I did have Duke to win it all, and I still feel as though UConn is right there at No. 2. Shame they have to meet up first. U Conn is playing well now,
but D U K E will still get it done.

Follow this and my other NBA Picks over at the NBA edge.com
Check the Archives Issue, 9 & 10 to see my earlier round NCAA Picks and verify my stories if youd like.
Id throw in the link there - but I will soon be moving that address.

So in case you forgot, I am still on Duke to win it all,
and I am still alive -- hows your bracket lookin??

Howdy all and Happy Monday!!

Well seems last week - being the first week of my new Blog here,
I needed to get familiar with this whole thing, so I have a smattering of different types of posts here. The beauty of this blog here and its topics -- MY RANDOM THOUGHTS - Is fortunately open enough to allow me to comment on just about anything. While I will post the occasional politically based entry, it is my intent NOT to go overboard with that. In fact this entry here will likely be more typical of what I post.
In any case - no one reads this blog yet I am sure so it probably wont matter in the long run anyway!!

WEEKEND ADVENTURE
Well not much of a weekend but I do have a small story to share.
Just out walking around on Friday night, not really any particular destination. Made a few stops at some of my favorite local watering holes, and upon not finding much to amuse me in either place, was strolling along toward one of the very happening clubs down here. There was the usual crowd at the front door, in fact quite the line to get in. Filled with highly fashionably dressed ladies, and phony guys trying to look stylish and scam on what ladies they could. Well the line was imposingly long, and not that I would want to go in anyways - but waiting for an hour and paying a $25 cover would NOT be my idea of a fun outing, well before I made it to the mob scene trying to get in I noticed a side door, where I was standing open up, and some bouncer talking on a cell phone, popped his head out the side door to hear the phone better.

Wearing a pair of old jeans and sneakers as well as what is deemed my "thinking man's Flannel" shirt (well it was 63 degrees!) the fashion police doormen would probably not had let me in EVEN if I had waited the prerequisite hour and coughed up $25 clams for the right to walk in and wait around more for the watered down overpriced drinks. So spotting the opportunity to avoid all that, without hesitation, I hastily walked past the bouncer who was distracted on the cell phone - and even pat him on the back as I walked by - I slipped past the second bouncer hurriedly and without hesitation found my self lost in the dense crowd of club goers.

Other than the shapely females doing their best to make themselves look hot & sexy, I don't really see the attraction in places like that.

SEGUE: Earlier that night the Miami Heat hosted The Dallas Mavericks in what was a very exciting OT game that the Heat wound up winning in dramatic fashion. The game marked the return of Miami in a Nationally televised NBA contest.

It was of little surprise then to run into Malik Allen of the Miami heat in the club. Malik was busy talking to two young girls basically wearing negligees. So I did not approach him to discuss the Miami's playoff prospects, in fact I was rather distracted by another negligee wearing beauty who caught my eye.

Which brings up the point - what are these women thinking basically going out in their undergarments?? Something about a lingere sponsored party or some other thing, I was having difficulty staying focused on what she was saying.

Well not much more point to this story other than - as the subject line reads... Some of my random thoughts,
see yas next time!
