NBA Player coins new word!

Who says that today's athletes are dumb? Case in point the NBA's Tracy McGrady. McGrady went right from High School straight to the NBA. Eschewing a free ride to a college of his choice. That small fact has not held McGrady back from making astonishing literary advances. In fact I do believe at last night's 2006 Allstar game, McGrady coined a new word.
At halftime he was interviewed for the camera. McGrady then said on camera, "I was just out there using this game as an exscapegoat..."

Hold up, Exscapegoat.... that word previously did not exist in Webster's dictionary. Scapegoat does, Scapegoat: one that is made to bear the blame of others. Escape (note no X): break loose from confinement. However we also need to take into account the definition of the prefix Ex: meaning, prior or previous.

Given this, I truly believe that Exscapegoat, as used by Tracy McGrady meant that he was using the game to ESCAPE being the SCAPEGOAT, or being the Ex-Scapegoat.

Brilliant really, all this from a man who didn't even attend a day of college.

...or perhaps just a mispronounciation.
