A November to remember.

Been a wild ride the last few weeks. From one extreme to the other.
This month started innocently enough on the heels of one of the lamest halloweens I ever had, and to be honest I was a feeling a little down about that.

Yet November was set up to be more memorable that I could even imagine, and were just about at the half way point.

At what point do I draw the line tactfully in my tale, I wonder. This type of venue I will utilize a restraint applicable to the format, therefore all the wonderful juicy details shall be for my most memorable memories!

As I mentioned before, leading into this month I was already on the downside, after a rather uneventful halloween. The news got much worse when I learned that a good friend and a pillar in my community had passed on. That was difficult on me as it brought up a lot of negative thoughts and negative thinking.

Things started looking up with the Metallica concert on the 6th. Although even that was tempered with more sadness as I learned there, that another dear friend had also passed.
It was shocking news and though in a venue intended for a happy escape. As you may or may not know, I am a huge Metallica fan, it still brought about such a damper. This particular friend whom I heard about at the Metallica show, I know that were he still with us, would have wanted us to 'shred on', and thus the November 6th Metallica show in the Broward county arena will always be dedicated to his memory.

Despite the bad news I had a great time at the show, and as always Metallica was amazing live. Amazing that they still play with such energy and passion after all these years! The news really set in the next day. I was troubled by disturbing thoughts, which haunted me all day. I was swamped by high pressure time consuming work for my job, and I was extremely distracted and couldnt concentrate. Thoughts of a million things going through my head.

With all this going on, i had almost forgotten that I had a vacation coming up. One I had planned for a while before. It was sorely needed although at a time when I was even considering reconsidering my vacation. What a mistake that would have been!

Turns out I did get to go on vacation to Costa Rica. Yes Again!! It was wild there, AGAIN! From a crazy night of partying and clubbing in San Jose, to hitting the surf on Jaco beach the next day. Renting motorcycles and blazing trails into the Rain Forest!! Yes we were making noise and burning GAS, but WE WERE VERY MINDFUL OF THE WILDLIFE and as a wildlife LOVER I would never do anything to jeapordize even one little lizard in the Jungle! Maybe spooked a few of them though!! There were more wild times at night in Jaco beach as well, then back into San Jose for more nightlife and debauchery before wrapping the weekend up and heading back to the states!

The capper was the Murphys Law show (on a Tuesday night no less!) - the next day after I got back - they were opening for the Bouncing Souls. Though to be honest I never did get to see the Souls as I wound up leaving after Murphys! Got to hang with Jimmy G. from Murphys law, and even made Jimmy call my buddy Weber up in NYC and made his wife wake him up so Jimmy could tell Weber that hes not right!
That was a wild crazy messed up night, where I really cant even begin to describe the ride home.

I will just say that it was a torrid turn of events for a guy who really should NEVER FORGET, that no matter what is going on in my world. I am definately very FORTUNATE TO BE WHO I AM!! For that I am grateful. It also serves as a great reminder, that Life is short, and NO ONE knows what will happen tommorrow. So dont waste your time here going around feeling down and being sad. Make the most of your time here, and DO THE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO! Enjoy each and every day for its a gift! We're Alive and that alone should be enough!
Do great things happen every day, no. But even after a low point in our lives when we feel down, its just as likely a string of GREAT THINGS will come along as well and make it ALL WORTHWHILE. Hard to see it sometimes, and we dont always appreciate it when things do go our way. Well if nothing else, I will state my November to Remember, reminded me of that, and further I do appreciate how fortunate I really am!

See there was a lesson in all of this after all!
